Senior Research Associate – Gynaecological Research and Clinical Evaluation

  • Employment Type: Full-time (35 hour week)
  • Duration: 2 year fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: $119,440 - $140,802 + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid Flexible Working)
  • Full Australian working rights required for the duration of the contract

Why Your Role Matters:

As a Senior Research Associate (Level B), you will work in the Gynaecological Research and Clinical Evaluation (GRACE) unit and will be expected to carry out independent and/or team research within the field of gynaecology. You will carry out research and other activities to develop your research expertise relevant to your particular field of research.

The role of Senior Research Associate reports to the Professor and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Establish a personal research portfolio and start developing independent research proposals.
  • Participate as co-investigator or chief investigator in competitive grant applications, or show evidence of active participation in research collaborations funded by competitive grants.
  • Mentor and guide students and colleagues and develop the next generation of academics through involvement in supervision of HDRs (as per the norms of the discipline).
  • Analyse data and advise where additional resources are required for consultation of large-scale data- sets.
  • Build national and international collaborations though existing datasets, production of academic output and development of new datasets and research projects.

Who You Are:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Expertise in managing and analysing large data sets including development of statistical analysis plans and the utilisation of linked data.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • Previous experience in development and production of systematic reviews and/or guidelines.
  • High-level understanding of development, management and utilisation of clinical registries.
  • A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
