  • Contribute to School of Architecture, Design and Planning’s Education Strategy as well as undertake projects for the School Executive
  • HEO 7 Base Salary $ 100,032 - $ 108,979 p.a. + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

This role reports to the Education Manager and works on discrete education-based projects to support the School’s education strategy and strategic plan. As the successful applicant you will exercise a degree of initiative and judgement in coordinating multiple activities concurrently, and resolving complex issues associated with the project's delivery. This is a role for a self-starter who is highly adept at proactively managing relationships with a diverse range of staff and is able to quickly understand the School’s strategic needs and goals.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide support and project management advice during the project’s organisation and establishment
  • manage the development and implementation of multiple work stream project plans to meet overarching project objectives
  • implement project governance and reporting procedures to monitor project delivery
  • build relationships and manage project communications with the project’s various stakeholders.

About you

We are looking for a Senior Project Officer who possesses:

  • experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects
  • experience project managing multiple work streams, or leading large complex projects and ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
  •  the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
  • accuracy, attention to detail and a high level of organisational skills
  • excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters
  • previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organization is desirable.
