  • Full-time, fixed term contract until 31 December 2023
  • Salary Range $94,941 – $104,143 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role 

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for leading and managing the planning and delivery of projects in support of the Executive Officer within the UniSA Education Futures Academic Unit. This role will contribute to project outcomes as a senior member of the Executive Services Team with projects generally focused on improvement of the Unit’s administrative processes and operations:

  • implementing operational improvements for the Unit’s casual staff induction process
  • implementing operational improvements for the Unit’s student complaints process
  • coordinating the redevelopment of the Unit’s SharePoint site

The specific work therein is required to support the UniSA Education Futures Academic Unit and the work activity associated with this project is expected to be completed within the anticipated timeframe of the contract duration.

The Senior Project Officer will establish strong networks and working relationships with key staff across the Unit and wider University community to enable this work.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Project manage the implementation of key initiatives within the Academic Unit including:
    • Scoping, planning, development, and management of milestones
    • Conducting research and generating complex project plans, reports, and analysis
    • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to gain involvement and to overcome obstacles/challenges
    • Management of costings and briefings associated with projects and conducting a review to establish achievement of project objectives
  • Maintain and develop effective relationships (internally and externally) that promote and sustain the Academic Unit and are of benefit to the University. This includes relationships with stakeholders, academic leaders, and university alumni
  • Undertake process mapping and redesign, in partnership with stakeholders, informed by UniSA policy and best practice guides
  • Together with project stakeholders, coordinate the redevelopment of the Unit’s SharePoint site
  • Foster collaborative and effective relationships with staff from across both the Unit and the University, sharing information and experience and implementing findings where appropriate

Essential Skills and Experience 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline with subsequent relevant experience, or equivalent extensive skills with demonstrated analytical ability, and knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake projects with a high degree of autonomy
  • Demonstrated ability to identify areas of risk and inefficiency in existing practices and develop new processes that take advantage of technology to deliver quality and timely service
  • Demonstrated high level ability to use the Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and other tools to support quality control and information management
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated experience in working effectively with people at all levels and the ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly and clearly
