  • Full-time secondment/ fixed term contract until 31 December 2025
  • Commencement Salary: $96,696 per annum plus 17% superannuation

We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to contribute to one of the largest changes to higher education in Australia over the past 30 years and help shape the new Adelaide University. You will work for the University of South Australia and be based in the Integration Management Office (IMO) in the Corporate & Finance Domain.

About the Domain

The Integration Management Office (IMO) has established functional areas which are referred to as Domains. Each Domain is responsible for executing tasks and producing deliverables that are crucial to the establishment of the new Adelaide University.

The Corporate and Finance Domain focuses on the transformation and integration of finance and corporate services (Go to Market, Risk, Assets & Infrastructure, Planning & Analytics and Legal) into the new university. More concretely, the domain will support the setup and transition of the new processes, policies, systems, organisation & governance and reporting of Finance and Corporate Services for Adelaide University.

About the role

As the Senior Project Officer you will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of projects in support of the Project Managers and Project Leads in the creation of the new Adelaide University. You will collaborate with cross-domains and cross-functional teams at both Universities and within the IMO, supporting project activity, and ensuring projects are delivered within scope, quality, schedule and budget. You will assist project teams with complex administrative and technical tasks to assure the implementation and timely delivery of project activity and you will be responsible for producing high-quality outputs, analysis, and developing relationships and collaborating with colleagues from both Universities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with a Domain Lead, Project Lead, Project Manager, Partner staff or other senior IMO staff to provide coordination, oversight and execution of program deliverables 
  • Apply and promote a shared project delivery approach through the use of prescribed systems, templates, reports and document storage 
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with staff across both universities as well as the IMO 
  • Act as the relevant reference point for the interpretation and application of the University’s policies and procedures for the Domain 

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Project management skills with a proven record of successfully coordinating all aspects of large-scale and complex projects in a similar environment 
  • Demonstrated experience working independently on several finance and/or other corporate services projects is desirable  
  • Highly developed relationship management skills, including the ability to interact, influence and negotiate with a wide range of senior stakeholders  
  • Skilled in analysing diverse information, resolving conflicts, and synthesising strategic insights 
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and a high level of organisation and time management skills 
  • Strong understanding of general accounting, fixed assets, management accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable or treasury is desirable
