About the Role

Flinders University is seeking a Senior Project Officer to join the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Science team, to provide high level support for academic activities and executive-led projects that promote the Colleges priorities and strategies. You will be required to undertake project work, research and analysis across a broad range of issues for the Dean of People and Resources, and the Dean of Education.

Working within a supportive and vibrant team, you will also be required to:

  • Coordinate, manage, deliver and support executive-led projects in promotion of College priorities and strategy including but not limited to improved student experience, new courses and recruitment, staff development, culture, partnerships and efficiency.

  • Provide support for managing the administration and implementation of the teaching plan and academic workloads equalisation, which may include new/amended topics and course approvals, overseeing timetabling and the strategic use of specialised teaching spaces, course reviews and accreditation.

  • Draft correspondence, reports, presentations and submissions on behalf of Dean (People & Resources) and Dean (Education), and the College Leadership Team at times, including response to complex requests to both internal and external parties.

About You

The Senior Project Officer will be an excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with academic and professional colleagues in a collegiate manner. Your problem-solving abilities will be the key to your success as you demonstrate your ability to exercise judgement and initiative to meet deadlines.

The successful Senior Project Officer will also demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.

  • Excellent data management skills, especially using Excel and PowerBI.

  • Extensive experience in a higher education environment, preferably in an academic support services area.
