Why The Role Matters:

The Education Innovation Senior Project Officer plays a key role within Arts, Design & Architecture supporting and driving current and future education innovation projects. The role entails supporting the Education Excellence Leadership team in project managing specialised education projects of strategic importance to the Faculty, with a focus on high-profile Language Services projects. In doing so, the role will provide reporting and analytical support, organise communications, provide administrative and logistical support for key initiatives, and build administrative and resource capacity to plan and prepare for upcoming education innovation projects in this area of ADA’s expertise.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and monitor the planning and delivery of identified Faculty education projects and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
  • Project management support for the local operational and logistical priorities as part of larger scale specialised projects, including practical and proactive project and administrative support (maintenance of initiative documentation, financial processing, coordination of travel and meetings, minutes, and agendas, report creation).
  • Contribute to and support pursuing new government contracts for language education services and education innovation initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of designed project plans and schedules and participate in planning processes as required.
  • Monitor, track, and report on the status of project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics are in line with the approved project plans for assigned projects.
  • Provide a high level of proactive support to internal and external stakeholders, UNSW ADA, UNSW Canberra, the Government client, UNSW Central teams, and ADA partners.
  • Develop and manage effective cross-cultural communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the designed projects.
  • Coordinate adherence to relevant University wide policies and procedures to ensure initiatives and innovations are managed within a defined, consistent, and proven set of rules for project management.

Skills and Experience: 

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent experience.
  • Strong project management skills including development of project proposals and plans, and experience designing, delivering, and evaluating programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a diverse team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of linguistically and culturally diverse stakeholders at different levels within and beyond the organisation.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Relevant competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
