Opportunity
Edith Cowan University (ECU)’s Food Community project is an exciting opportunity to support food security action across regional and remote Western Australia (WA).
We need a Project Officer and Senior Project Officer to implement this innovative system change project across WA. Food Community aims to understand how Western Australian food initiatives function as a system to drive food security action. It also aims to support their increased effectiveness to address food security in a coordinated manner. The project will be implemented throughout the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields, Midwest (including Gascoyne), Wheatbelt, and Great Southern regions.
To help our team successfully scale up the Food Community project, ECU is seeking a Senior Project Officer and a Project Officer to implement the project across Western Australian regions. Once you have completed the system change training that underpins this project, you will assist the Food Community team to identify, map and evaluate current WA food security initiatives against system change characteristics; bring together cross-sector partners to co-design action plans to strengthen existing food security projects; hold public events in regional WA; and collaborate with government, non-government and civil society organisations to establish food governance models across WA regions. This approach aims to increase the sustainability and effectiveness of food security initiatives.
For more information about the Food Community project, please see www.foodcommunity.com.au and this webinar which outlines the process we will replicate across the state.
