About the Role 

An exciting role charged with leading the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects within a diverse university environment. 

The Senior Project Manager will work to achieve deliverables as part of the University’s Capital Infrastructure Plan.  The role is varied, with a mix of projects including essential infrastructure upgrades and construction of new and refurbished labs, teaching spaces, offices, and student spaces.

As a client-side project manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from concept initiation, design development and construction through to project completion in accordance with the allocated capital budget.

You will be the primary contact for all elements of project delivery and will provide a transparent, responsive, and consistent service to all stakeholders.  You will engage with University staff and students and manage consultants, contractors, suppliers and external authorities.

We are looking for a person who gets the job done and builds strong relationships while doing it.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Leading the planning and delivery of a range of projects in alignment with the University’s strategic vision

  • Manage teams of architects, engineers and contractors ensuring all work together effectively to achieve the end goal, meeting the agreed scope and end-user requirements.

  • Effectively manage project budgets including forecasting expenditure, managing contingency risk and budget reporting

About You 

We are seeking a senior project manager with significant experience in delivering client-side project management.  The right person for this role is an effective communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills who builds productive and collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders. 

You will have significant experience in the delivery of building and infrastructure projects from planning through to post-completion.  You will be able to prioritise your workload to deliver concurrent projects.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role are:

  • Significant experience in project management of building and infrastructure related projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and deliver concurrent projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver client-side project management, including stakeholder management skills to establish and maintain stakeholder trust in a customer service focussed environment. 

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

About Property, Facilities and Development

This role is part of the Property, Facilities and Development (PFD) team at Flinders.  Our team works across all of Flinders' places, spaces, and physical infrastructure. We work across four key areas: Strategic Planning and Sustainability; Capital Development; Customer and Site Services; and Strategic Projects.  The team are responsible for the planning, development, capital delivery, management, and maintenance of all University spaces to ensure they are fit for purpose and support Flinders to deliver its strategic objectives.
