About This Opportunity 

This role provides high-level advice and support to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). You will conduct research, analyse data, and develop content related to higher education policy including;

  • Assisting with policy matters, teaching and learning governance committees, and strategic plans.

  • Collaborating with staff across UQ on teaching and learning policy, governance, strategy, and planning.

Key responsibilities 

  • Conduct research on higher education policy and develop insightful recommendations, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.

  • Contribute to strategic and operational plans for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio., collaborate with stakeholders to identify policy risks and opportunities, and support working parties and committees.

  • Provide expert advice on programs and activities across the portfolio, fostering positive working relationships at all levels.

  • Research, compile, and format information on higher education and teaching and learning policy for diverse audiences.

  • Support the Senior Manager, Governance and Reporting with monitoring key initiatives, risk mitigation, and audits.


About You  

  • Possess a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (or be actively working towards one) with extensive experience or demonstrate extensive experience and management expertise in a relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Proven ability to understand and interpret Australian higher education policy, legislation, and teaching and learning frameworks, advising on their application within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio.

  • Demonstrate a strong track record of managing complex projects within large institutions, effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders.

  • Possess exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to work independently, set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Exhibit excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, effectively communicating with a wide range of audiences both within and outside the university.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and will be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
