About the team

The Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division exists for the purpose of showcasing the best of UWA, ultimately enhancing reputation and growth, while particularly driving student enrolments.  To aid achievement of this, BMR drives all of the university’s communications, marketing, recruitment and admissions activity.

Working across all global markets, the Brand and Marketing team within BMR provides strategic brand direction and manages ongoing brand and marketing programs for the University.  This includes marketing planning, marketing communications (advertising, CRM and direct marketing, content), digital channel management and creative production.  In doing so, the Brand and Marketing team consults with all areas of the University to implement marketing plans and associated activities.

About the opportunity

The Senior Marketing Officer (Brand) provides high level support to the Marketing Manager, Brand and Campaigns in the development, implementation, and measurement of marketing communication programs that contribute to strategic marketing goals and enhance the reputation of the University.  The position will actively pursue marketing initiatives such as marketing planning, campaign advertising, lead management, marketing consultation and the development of marketing materials to achieve brand alignment and to further enhance the UWA brand and marketing effectiveness across all target audiences.

The Senior Marketing Officer (Brand) works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to devise professional marketing solutions and strategic marketing plans to meet business objectives as well as to ensure an integrated and consistent approach to all communication touch-points across the University. The role may also be supported by a Marketing Officer and will provide informal mentorship and development where appropriate.

About you 

You are a strategic thinker and confident communicator experienced in brand management and marketing leadership. You are ready to shape and grow the UWA brand, build engagement within our brand guidelines and assets, provide strategic leadership to our partners and mentor a supporting marketing officer.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high level consultation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of consumer lifecycle marketing strategy and implementation across multiple channels.
  • Substantial relevant senior experience at managing high-level marketing and communication activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise high-level independent judgement and problem-solving while working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Excellent planning and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage projects on time and within budget.
