The role

The Senior Manager provides high quality, strategically aligned, flexible and confidential support to The Pro Vice Chancellor of RMIT Vietnam.

The position works closely with the Executive Leadership Team, and in collaboration with academic and administrative senior staff in Vietnam and as required liaise with senior staff in Australia. The position is responsible for contributing to RMIT Vietnam strategic planning and performance management through the oversight of key strategic priorities and commitments that require PVC oversight, ensuring quality within the agreed timeframes with appropriate risk management. In addition, this position takes responsibility in the development of high-quality reporting and stakeholder engagement, as well as supporting the PVC in the operational management and external engagement of the operations of The Office of the PVC Vietnam.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Support the performance reporting and alignment to the RMIT Vietnam strategy through the articulation of proposed KPI’s and subsequent reporting of these.

  • Lead the governance and reporting of strategic projects and matters that have implications for RMIT Vietnam.

  • Establish strong reporting mechanisms e.g. dashboards for RMIT Vietnam to ensure real time visibility for the PVC and Office of the PVC on key metrics, KPIs, project deliverables as applicable.

  • Prepare papers, presentations as needed and act as a key point of review for matters requiring the PVC’s approval or endorsement in RMIT Vietnam context.

  • Support Office of the PVC to embed strong governance principles engaging with key stakeholders.

  • Support Office of the PVC by ensuring that papers for VCE, VCEM, VEC and VLT are prepared, submitted on time and are of high quality.

  • Significant leadership skills including the capacity to initiate, lead and manage in a challenging and dynamic environment and to provide high level strategic advice and ability to understand issues at both a broad strategic level and at a detailed operational level.

  • Demonstrated successful experience in the development, interpretation and implementation of policy and procedure to progress organisational objectives.

  • Demonstrated outcome focused project management skills, along the entire project life cycle, utilising a variety of methodologies and evidence of capability building for a delivery team.

  • Demonstrated capacity to think and plan strategically, in a diverse and complex stakeholder environment, paired with an ability to drive execution and delivery within defined parameters.

  • High level conceptual, planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to undertake a consultative approach, exercise significant judgement, display emotional intelligence and initiative when addressing complex problems and providing advice for varied audiences.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and business writing skills, with the ability to lead, direct and influence others, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.

Further information 

The role located in HCMC Vietnam, is open for both local and expatriate candidates.

As an expatriate candidate you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam.  To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ senior management related experience. 


English Proficiency

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 7.0 or 170 in Lingua Skills.
