  • Seeking Senior Lecturers with expertise in Anatomical Pathology or Chemical Pathology or Haematology
  • Two-year fixed term part time contracts available, ranging from 0.1-0.4 FTE
  • Salary range: Level C $125,639- $144,523 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation plus clinical loading

About the team

The UWA Medical School is the largest and longest established medical school in Western Australia. It delivers a 4 year post-graduate MD course to local, national and international students. The School also has substantial and successful research programs across most disciplines in the medical sector. The Discipline of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides high quality and innovative teaching to medical and allied health students throughout the course in collaboration with the wider medical profession.

About the opportunity

As a Senior Lecturer you will provide teaching and assessment of either anatomical pathology, chemical pathology, or haematology content to students within the MD program. You will develop online and innovative resources to support students in the acquisition of medically relevant knowledge and skills.

You will also work collaboratively with clinical and academic staff to conduct research, and develop and deliver an integrated curriculum in a format that is consistent with teaching by other pathological and clinic disciplines.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Expertise in current relevant practice (anatomical pathology or haematology or chemical pathology), demonstrated by Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent.
  • Experience in medical education; knowledge of the medical curriculum at UWA would be advantageous
  • Experience with small and large group teaching, and assessment of medical students and/or junior doctors.
  • Experience in innovation, development and utilisation of learning resources.
  • Effective organisational, communication and collaboration skills
