As a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor, Research Leadership you will:

  • Lead a range of strategic university projects, comprehensive researcher development programs and initiatives and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop effective curricula and learning materials to grow research leadership capability at Deakin. Integrate industry and contemporary research practice into training design to improve research leader learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
  • Lead the development and/or adoption of innovation in curriculum design and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
  • Design collaborative learning opportunities to advance the leadership skills and research capabilities of emerging and current research leaders. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive material and practices.
  • Provide academic support and strategic advice to research leaders and work collaboratively to improve research cultures, research collaboration and individual research leader success
  • Prepare and deliver workshops, seminars and online material that will address identified leader skills and information needs.

To be successful for the Senior Lecturer, Research Leadership position you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area ×
  • Highly developed knowledge and skills and expertise in researcher development with particular focus on research leadership, research culture, innovative curriculum design and teaching practice to support quality learner experiences outcomes.
  • Evidence of the ability to lead and/or support the development and execution of a diverse range of projects and initiatives designed to engage stakeholders broadly and collaboratively impact and engagement practices for researchers.
  • Evidence of excellence in contribution to innovative researcher curricula, in online, campus-based and blended learning environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to achieve influence and impact and to build support for ideas and actions through development of strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt a scholarly and evidence-based approach to all areas of practice, including evidence of publications in scholarly journals and other venues.

To be successful for the Associate Professor, Research Leadership position you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area
  • Recognised knowledge and skills and expertise in researcher development with particular focus on research leadership, researcher communication, innovative curriculum design and teaching practice to support quality learner experiences and outcomes, underpinned by publications in high quality journals where relevant for the discipline.  
  • Evidence of the ability to lead and/or support the development and execution of a diverse range of projects and initiatives designed to engage stakeholders broadly and collaboratively to enhance impact and engagement practices for researchers.
  • Evidence of excellence in contribution to innovative researcher curricula, in online, campus-based and blended learning environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to achieve influence and impact and to build support for ideas and actions through development of strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt a scholarly and evidence-based approach to all areas of practice, including evidence of publications in scholarly journals and other venues.
