Exciting Senior Lecturer role in the Department of Women's and Children's Health as part of a joint appointment with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network

The Adelaide Medical School is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Women's and Children's Health who will be based at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, and will participate in the delivery of clinical services in the area of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

As the appointee, you will supervise trainee medical staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students.  You will provide leadership in teaching and research in the Adelaide Medical School and in service and policy development at the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network. 

This full-time position will be located within the Adelaide Medical School or its affiliated research and teaching spaces, with clinical services and duties provided in the Women's and Children's Division at the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.

The responsibilities to the University of Adelaide position include leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and the development of a high quality research program relevant to the Discipline.  Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to evaluate and provide academic support to the Women's and Children's Division in the Lyell McEwin Hospital including the promotion of a culture of research and teaching excellence.

The responsibilities to the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network will include Clinical Delivery, Clinical Leadership and Clinical Administration.

Term of position:  Continuing joint position, appointed to the University of Adelaide and the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (successful applicant will be provided with two separate employment contracts)

To be successful you will need:

  • Registered as a medical practitioner and specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with AHPRA.
  • FRANZCOG (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated track record in administration, research and teaching commensurate with level.
  • Experience in conducting high quality research in a recognised area of strength within the Discipline of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, both undergraduate and postgraduate students in a tertiary clinical and academic setting including the use of digital technology in teaching.
