Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander registered nurse with a passion for nursing and its future, to join our innovative, energetic, forward-thinking team on our Joondalup Campus located in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to make a difference at ECU through innovation in teaching, learning and research.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is ECU School of Nursing and Midwifery has been ranked in the 2020 top 100 nursing schools globally  (ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking 2020) and is at the cutting-edge of nurse education and research. We provide the largest undergraduate nursing program in Western Australia, as well as a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs of study, to prepare students for positions in nursing and midwifery.  The School of Nursing and Midwifery also produces research at a level exceeding world standard through our well-established industry links.

The Senior Lecturer will contribute to providing support for the implementation of the 2022-2026 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategic plan in the school, particularly with respect to developing a ‘workforce that reflects our communities’. Our ambition is to help develop Indigenous nursing and midwifery students to grow into great nursing and midwifery leaders in the future. We are looking for an experienced nurse leader who can walk this journey with the students.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a sound professional and academic track record in nursing, hold a postgraduate qualification as per the relevant Selection Criteria for Level C, and demonstrate some experience in research and teaching at tertiary level. The successful applicant will work with leaders from ECU Joondalup and Bunbury, and with industry partners to support partnership models, research and deliver high quality education.

The successful applicant:

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
  • Will demonstrate some experience in education and research experience within a tertiary education setting; and
  • Will have completed a Masters degree in or relevant to nursing and be willing to undertake doctoral studies with support.

Formal mentorship will be provided to the successful applicant.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, ongoing position attract a salary of $124,522 to $143,081 PA (ALEVC) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
