Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for nursing and its future, to join our innovative, energetic, forward-thinking team on our Southwest Campus located 200 kms south of Perth in Bunbury. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to make a difference at ECU and St. John of God Bunbury through innovation in research, teaching and learning.

The ECU School of Nursing and Midwifery has been ranked in the top 100 nursing schools globally (Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking 2020 ) and is at the cutting-edge of nurse education and research. We provide the largest undergraduate nursing program in Western Australia, as well as a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs of study, to prepare students for positions in nursing and midwifery.  The School of Nursing and Midwifery also produces research at a level exceeding world standard through our well-established industry links.

St John of God Bunbury Hospital (SJGBH)  is a division of St John of God Health Care, a not- for- profit Catholic health group operating in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific. St John of God Bunbury Hospital was established in Bunbury, Western Australia by the Sisters of St Johns in 1927.

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is a 145 bed facility that provides a variety of inpatient and community based services including acute medical, surgical, day procedure unit, maternity, palliative care, renal dialysis, oncology, coronary care and angiography services.

The organisation provides extensive clinical and specialist services including radiology, pathology, medical imaging, dietetics, allied health and hydrotherapy available in our Medical Centre and we have more than 200 accredited permanent and visiting medical practitioners. In addition there is a dedicated research/clinical trials team and the hospital is affiliated with the Rural Medical School and Specialist Registrar Training Programs.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a sound professional and academic track record in nursing, hold a postgraduate qualification as per the relevant Selection Criteria for Level C, and demonstrate some experience in research and teaching at tertiary level. The successful applicant will work with leaders from both ECU and SJOG-Bunbury to develop partnership models, research and deliver high quality education.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.

The successful applicant:

  • Will have completed a PhD, supported by relevant nursing qualifications;
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
  • Will demonstrate education and research experience within a tertiary education setting; and
  • Will demonstrate a sound professional and academic track record in nursing.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, fixed term position attracts a salary of $124,522 to $143,081 PA (ALEVC) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
