The Opportunity
The Student Experience division of the Education Portfolio has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Senior Lecturer (Education-focused).
The Senior Lecturer (Education-focused) will be part of a team driving elements of the Rich Experiences program in alignment with the Monash University strategic plan – Impact 2030. Focusing on in-curriculum and extra-curricular experiences that foster deep engagement with industry, community and research partners and across disciplines, organisations, locations and cultures, the Rich Experiences initiative aims to develop and enhance the capabilities of a generation of innovative graduates and global citizens.
The Monash Innovation Guarantee (MIG) is one of the key programs for which the role will have responsibility. The MIG is an intensive Flagship Rich Educational Experience that equips students with the skills and mindsets to lead innovative solutions to real-world industry challenges, positioning Monash graduates at the forefront of social and commercial enterprise.
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for coordinating or supporting the coordination of offerings; this will involve engaging in the collaborative design and implementation of interdisciplinary team-taught units. You will be responsible for the preparation, delivery and facilitation of course materials and workshops, seminars and events. You will contribute to teaching innovations to enhance the student experience and diversify approaches to industry experiences.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong educational background with substantial relevant skills and work experience. The role requires advanced qualifications and/or recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area. A position at this level will normally require a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing. In addition, a position at this level will normally require a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area. The ideal candidate will also have the demonstrated capacity to forge strong working relationships with a diversity of academics and industry partners.
