Overview
One of the largest and most comprehensive schools of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, ECU’s School of Arts and Humanities is looking for a creative, innovative, and well-networked academic to coordinate the Media and Communication undergraduate and postgraduate programs. With a background in Media and Cultural studies, ECU is seeking a passionate and established lecturer with strong coordination and leadership skills, and the ability to work as part of a successful team.

ECU teaches students to think, create, communicate, work in teams and problem solve. ECU was ranked the top public university in Western Australia for undergraduate Media and Communications discipline in the QILT Student Experience Survey 2020.

The successful applicant should fulfil the following criteria:
1. Hold a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies / Communications or a relevant discipline area;
2. Proven ability in the development, delivery and coordination of unit delivery (on campus and online) at both undergraduate and postgraduate level;
3. Demonstrated experience of coordination of a Master of Media and Communication, or Post Graduate Arts programs;
4. Experience supervising, reviewing and/or examination of honours masters and/or PhD theses;
5. Experience in international higher education and working with local and international students and international partners
6. Experience in contributing to curriculum working parties and/or research committees;
7. Proven research track record; and
8. Relevant industry experience and proactive engagement with professional communities.

You will work with the Associate Dean and relevant major coordinators to prepare students for jobs in the media and related industries. The successful candidate will be an engaging mentor with a positive mindset, have a strong work ethic and model professional industry behaviour. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to build networks within our Asian region and beyond, and improve and build workplace integrated learning into the programs.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $124,522 to $143,081 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
