Overview
Edith Cowan University is a large, multi-campus institution serving communities nationally and internationally. The University has two metropolitan campuses at Mount Lawley and Joondalup,

The School of Education is one of the largest providers of Initial Teacher Education in Australia with in excess of 5,000 students. The School offers a broad range of programs including Early Childhood Studies, Primary, Secondary and Postgraduate Education.

We are looking for an experienced Academic for a teaching and research position with a focus on Design & Technology education. The successful applicant will engage in active research and supervise research students, contribute to curriculum development and teaching across the School of Education's undergraduate and postgraduate Design & Technology secondary education program, engage in service activities within the University and their professional community. The Role
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of connectivity between the education of Pre-Service Teachers, their own teaching experience and engagement with the secondary education field. Key criteria

  • PhD in Design & Technology education
  • Evidence of delivering high quality learning
  • Demonstrate a program of research (Design & Technology or School based) with a track record of quality publications commensurate with the level of appointment.
  • Previous experience teaching in Design & Technology classroom environments demonstrating a strong pedagogical approach
  • Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum or jurisdictional equivalent
  • Awareness of Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Graduate Teacher standards

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, ongoing position attracts a remuneration of $102,253 to $120,814 pa (Level B) / $124,522 to $143,081 pa (Level C) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
