The recent formation of the School of Medicine and Psychology at ANU, provides a unique opportunity to lead the:

  • Curriculum design and teaching of psychology in the ANU medical and health science programs
  • Design, development and implementation of an evaluation framework to inform continuous quality improvement in the School of Medicine and Psychology (SMP) programs

Position overview
ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the School of Medicine and Psychology (SMP), the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.  

The School of Medicine and Psychology was formed in 2023 following amalgamation of the pre-existing Medical School and Research School of Psychology. The integration of medicine and psychology at a school level provides a unique opportunity for the development of integrated novel education and research programs.


The Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Evaluation is a critical position developed to allow a substantive focus on the integration of psychology education into the medical curriculum, the development of a program of well-being and personal development for postgraduate students and the implementation of a comprehensive evaluation framework. The individual will work with clinical, academic and professional staff within SMP to achieve these objectives.
