About the Role

Join our talented academic staff at Flinders University as either a Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research) or Senior Lecturer (Clinical/Practitioner) in Nutrition and Dietetics! If you are an Accredited Practising Dietitian who is committed to the scholarship of teaching or is passionate about research, Flinders University invites you to share your expertise to develop culturally responsive and career-ready graduates of the next generation. As the Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research), you will contribute to innovative research that aligns with the Caring Futures Institute (Australia’s first fully dedicated research centre for the study of self‐care and caring solutions), while concurrently delivering excellence in teaching. You will undertake a lead role in the planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning through the development and delivery of lectures and tutorial or other modes of learning, such as placement education for topics within the suite of Nutrition and Dietetics. You will also provide a significant and high-quality research contribution to the Caring Futures Institute through collaboration, cross-disciplinary research activity, and the strengthening of new partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You will attract external grant income, publish high quality academic journals, and supervise HDR students.

As the Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics (Clinical/Practitioner), you will utilise your leadership skills to make an independent and high-quality contribution to teaching via curriculum design and review, and the creation and coordination of lectures, tutorials, and workshops. In this role, you will also concurrently engage in practice within the field of Nutrition and/or Dietetics in a clinical or community setting to support maintenance of contemporary practice, knowledge, and skills. With your significant and senior experience as an Accredited Practising Dietitian, you will develop industry partnerships for work integrated learning, and coordinate high quality placement education, including clinical skills training, simulation, and service provision. You will contribute to community service and strengthen new and existing partnerships with external stakeholders that have potential for improved teaching, learning and research outcomes for the University.

About You

With your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will maintain strong relationships with a range of diverse staff, students, and industry stakeholders. Your natural ability to collaborate and engage with relevant external professional domains will develop productive partnerships that can provide opportunities for students and promote graduate employability. Your keen attention to detail will allow you to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, while always demonstrating a commitment to high quality service delivery. You will also have sound knowledge and practice in the field of First Nations health, including the ability to facilitate student learning as it relates to cultural safety and responsiveness.

To be successful in either of these roles, you will have:
