  • Full time, fixed term five year opportunity for a dual trained Neurologist and Sleep physician with a PhD with category 1 funding

  • Make a significant contribution to research medical student education, clinical research and higher degree student supervision as part of Sydney Medical School

  • Base salary from $138,645 + 17% superannuation + clinical loading  pro rata

About the opportunity

Sydney Medical School’s Clinical Schools and has access to the full clinical, teaching and research staff resources of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) at Camperdown. The school promotes interdisciplinary teaching and learning and has teachers and researchers in both University, Local Health District and Private practice roles. The school’s affiliates are deeply involved in all aspects of the school’s activities and relate through the CCS administration and Head of Clinical School. 

The Senior Lecturer in Neurology and Sleep will be based at the Camperdown.

About you

  • registered as a medical practitioner in NSW. Has specialist registration with AHPRA as an adult neurologist with specialist registration or evidence of postgraduate training in Sleep Medicine

  • completed a PhD in relevant research related to neurology and sleep

  • can demonstrate excellence in research, scholarly activities relevant to the discipline and educational design and practice with receipt of a category 1 peer reviewed grant from an Australian funding agency

  • has an established network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the discipline, School/ Faculty and University

  • has an understanding of and ability to support an academic endeavour from curriculum design to producing leading research and providing a student enabling environment

  • has experience in supervising others and coordinating team activities in a clinical or research environment

  • has a network of relationships with key academic, clinical and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders.
