About the Role

As a Senior Lecturer in Inclusive and Specialised Education you will provide leadership in research and to the delivery of topics within the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work, particularly in the following areas:

  • Learners with complex needs

  • Learning disabilities

  • Differentiated learning or literacy

  • Numeracy for students with learning needs

As an Academic Teacher and Researcher, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate curriculum including lectures, tutorials, and placements within Inclusive and Specialised Education. You will provide teaching with a focus on pedagogical practice that is innovative and enhances the student experience.  You will contribute to the College’s ethical and high-quality research focus areas by scholarship, publication, and external grant acquisition. You will build and maintain strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders, both internally through mentoring early career researchers and externally through new and existing industry partners. Working across multi-disciplinary teams, you will help shape a highly respectful and collaborative work environment for all.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent and experienced tertiary teacher in Inclusive and Special Education, including responsibility of topic coordination and curriculum design. You will have previously supervised honours and higher degree students and have a strong track record of research, including high-quality publications and attraction of competitive grants. You are an excellent communicator in all formats, particularly in your ability to establish relationships with students, staff, and industry partners. You will have a completed a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, and scholarship.

  • Experience providing leadership in curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.

  • Innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
