About the opportunity
Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the areas of Engineering Systems (with specialisations in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental and Agricultural Engineering), Information Technology and Science (with specialisation in Environmental and Earth Systems, Marine Systems, Forest Systems and Regenerative Agriculture).
The Faculty is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer, to contribute to innovative teaching and research within the Engineering discipline, with a particular focus in Project Management, and an additional preferred focus on Building Information Modelling/Management (BIM). This position will also be expected to contribute to course development, course management at the postgraduate level and curriculum design.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Provide a high standard of teaching and learning and educational design and delivery.
- Contribute to the research profile of the Faculty in the area of engineering project management, and preferably BIM, through high impact publications, externally funded research projects, higher degree by research supervision and industry engagement.
- Support the Faculty through course management, design and improvement.
- Undertake relevant community and professional engagement that supports and enhances the University and Faculty’s profile and priorities.
About you
With a completed PhD or equivalent in engineering, you will possess demonstrated experience in project management within an engineering context and the ability to develop and deliver innovative teaching and contribute to research collaborations.
At Senior Lecturer level, you will also have sustained evidence of excellence in teaching at a tertiary level, an understanding of contemporary educational practice relevant to engineering and a proven track record in research excellence demonstrated through research publications, higher degree by research success, and attracting competitive research funding.

- Full-time, continuing (permenant)
- Located at our Gold Coast Campus. Generous relocation support available.
- Academic Level C. The base salary ranges from $128,427- $147,663 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $172,766.
