About the Role

As the Senior Lecturer, you will foster student excellence through innovative teaching practices across the suite of Health Sciences topics and courses in the College of Nursing and Health Science. Your contribution to leadership in teaching will also involve coordinating, monitoring workflow and providing feedback to casual academic teaching staff. You will make an independent and high-quality contribution to strengthening existing partnerships or exploring new partnerships with external stakeholders that have the potential for providing improved teaching, learning and/or research outcomes for the University.

In this role you will:

  • Design, and review teaching curricula for Health Science topics.

  • Utilise inspired and contemporary teaching approaches and technologies to enhance the student experience.

  • Provide academic counselling and professional advice to studies to develop enterprising graduates.

  • Engage in coaching, mentoring, and supervising of student projects.

About You

As the Senior Lecturer, you will demonstrate a passion for providing leadership and delivering excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of Health Science topics and courses. You will use your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with staff and students that role model the values and ethos of the University. You will contribute to scholarship in teaching through participation in teaching and learning strategies and in professional development in higher education teaching.

To be successful in this role you will also demonstrate:

  • Completion of a PhD or EdD or equivalent qualification is required in a health-related discipline in addition to a current membership with a relevant professional association.

  • An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to a health-related discipline.

  • Significant and sustained evidence of excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level.

  • Evidence of excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level in areas associated with one or more of the following: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health, digital health, health psychology, LGBTQIA+ health, pharmacology (desirable).
