Established in 2017, the Curtin Medical School, which is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences, brings together multidisciplinary teaching and research expertise, and leads the only undergraduate medical degree in Western Australia. We have a rare opportunity for a senior hospital-based Clinician, to work for Curtin University on a part-time basis (0.2 FTE), and coordinate our Curtin Medical School clinical teaching program at the Sir Charles Gardener Hospital
In this role you will….
- Oversee and organise the clinical placements of Years 4 and 5 medical students across the whole year s, as well as shorter clinical experiences for students in the early years of the course).
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of clinical placements, and liaise closely with the Clinical Dean General Practice.
- Ensure clinical teaching supervisors have sufficient knowledge of the planned curriculum, expected learning experiences and workplace-based assessment for each of the clinical placement disciplines.
- Ensure students are aware of additional learning opportunities on site and provide teaching where required
- Ensure consistency of learning experiences for students on site (and through communication with other Clinical Deans and sites, equivalence with other sites)
- Provide pastoral care to students when required.

We are looking for someone with…
- A degree in Medicine with APHRA registration, currently employed by Sir Charles Gardner Hospital.
- Significant experience and record of providing supervision to medical student in clinical settings.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students and staff.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the discipline/profession and in community engagement.
- Extensive clinical experience in Medicine, holding a general and specialist registration.
- Demonstrated strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with others.
