The Faculty of Health Sciences comprises three schools: Allied Health, Behavioural and Health Sciences and Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine. There are currently approximately 14,000 students (EFTSL) and 530 (FTE) staff in the faculty under the disciplines: occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, exercise science, exercise physiology, nutrition science, biomedical science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, physiotherapy, psychology and public health.

The Senior Lecturer (Level C) / Associate Professor (Level D) in Speech Pathology is expected to make significant contributions to the development and implementation of the Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University by providing theoretical and clinical teaching and research, and coordinating the course on the North Sydney campus.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Providing high quality innovative teaching, informed by empirical research and reflective practice, at undergraduate level.
  • Demonstrating leadership in curriculum design, and in the creation/enhancement of supportive and engaging learning environments.
  • Supporting students by designing assessments and providing feedback/guidance that enables achievement of learning outcomes.

You will need to have:

  • A degree in Speech Pathology (Bachelor or Masters) and membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Advanced knowledge and/or practice demonstrated in significant teaching experience and a higher degree (e.g., Masters or PhD or equivalent). Note: PhD is required for Level D.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement innovative and effective teaching, assessment and learning experiences at the higher education level.
  • Evidence of ability to show commitment with integrity to the Catholic Identity, Mission and ethos of the University.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and disseminate high quality research, including collaborative research and to supervise research students (Level C) or a significant academic research profile in a relevant area in higher education, including a strong relevant publication record and ability to deliver effective research training (Level D).

Total remuneration valued to $154,629 total rem - $167,878 total rem pa, including salary component $130,847 - $142,171 pa (Academic Level C) OR total remuneration valued to $175,242 total rem - $192,902 total rem pa, including salary component $148,465 - $163,559 pa (Academic Level D); employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
