Your new role
Senior Lecturer Position:
This role will be the key curriculum development role for the new Curtin Centre for Applied Ethics. In this role you will be responsible for leading the Centre’s curriculum and student engagement activities. A Senior Lecturer plays a significant role in teaching and learning by engaging in activities that enhance and develop scholarly teaching practices relevant to their discipline or profession. They should be knowledgeable about the student learning experience and employ high quality, effective teaching practices and curriculum design that incorporate research, scholarship, and/or professional practice. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and leadership that promotes and supports student learning, as well as a commitment to the development of learning and teaching communities. A Senior Lecturer will also engage in competitive and high-quality research based on a significant track record of research achievement. The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Develop curricula for courses/majors.
- Create High School pathway programs.
- Design professional development modules.
- Implement innovative pedagogical approaches.
- Design Executive Education programs.
- Conduct scholarship in teaching and learning.
- Secure grants to fund research and activities.
- Collaborate with Directors, Leads, and academics.
- Possess a competitive research track record.
- Have experience with Sustainable Development Goals, Climate Change Ethics, and/or digital & AI ethics.
This role will be the key Industry Engagement role for the new Curtin Centre for Applied Ethics. In this role you will be responsible for developing and sustaining relationships with industry in order to position the Centre as a key resource for ethical practice, for professionals in the field and those currently in training. An Associate Professor plays a crucial leadership role in research, industry engagement and teaching and learning activities. They will play a key role in developing and sustaining relationships with industry, leading innovative curriculum design and the development and communication of improved pedagogies to teaching staff. This role supports and promotes student learning, providing leadership that contributes to the development of learning and teaching, peer review, and mentoring. Additionally, this role contributes to the advancement of teaching and learning by incorporating research, scholarship, and/or professional practice into teaching activities. The incumbent is expected to maintain a consistent record of excellence in teaching and research, and provide effective leadership in the discipline/profession. The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Develop and lead programs that align with Curtin Business School and University objectives.
- Establish cooperative relationships with industry.
- Identify funding opportunities and secure external grants.
- Create executive education programs for industry.
- Collaborate with directors, course leads, and academics.
- Promote Centre activities and implement thought leadership initiatives.
- Demonstrate research and industry engagement in ethics, teaching, and learning.
- Have experience with Sustainable Development Goals, climate change ethics, and/or digital & AI ethics.
