Senior Lecturer position in Medical professional and Leadership

Based at the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building on North Tce, Adelaide, the Senior Lecturer in Medical Professionalism and Leadership will be responsible for leading development and delivery of the Professionalism and Leadership domain of the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine program.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a team with other academics and will play a pivotal role in developing innovative, context relevant teaching and assessment activities.  This role is critical to the development of the new medical program at the University of Adelaide, as the Adelaide Medical School seeks to ensure that its graduates continue to be equipped to practice as leaders with the highest professional standards. While the position would be well suited to a medical practitioner, individuals with relevant experience in medical ethics, law or leadership are encouraged to apply.

To be successful you will need:

  • Evidence of substantial professional and/or clinical experience in the areas of Professionalism and Leadership. 
  • A PhD, or Professional Fellowship in a relevant discipline, or have equivalent qualifications with clinical or research experience related to the field of Professionalism and Leadership.
  • Experience in medical curriculum development and the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high quality course and subject design, and in the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
  • A track record of achievement in the areas of medical law, medical ethics, medical leadership or student health and well-being.
