  • Commencement Salary: $101,110 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

We have two new exciting positions for experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers to join our growing ISTS team at UniSA.

The first role is for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer: Data Storage, Backup and Recovery which is required to guide senior staff in the design, implementation and ongoing management of innovation solutions related to emerging data storage, backup and recovery requirements.

The second role is for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer: Security, who will work to ensure the architectural design, installation, monitoring and maintenance of the University’s entire infrastructure is configured in line with the University’s Cyber Security Framework whilst also providing appropriate levels of resilience within the systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide high level strategic advice and support on current and emerging infrastructure technologies
  • Develop and document standards for building, deploying, maintaining supporting and securing designated information technologies, services and applications
  • Design and approve significant modifications to production services prior to implementation, ensuring appropriate documentation is completed as part of the change management procedures
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers of hardware and services
  • Support operational aspects of Security and Identity Management including Active Directory

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive expertise in design, documentation and provision of technical leadership for the architecture of specific technologies
  • Extensive relevant professional information technology experience in a complex networked computing environment comparable with that of the University
  • Highly developed diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Significant experience in architectural design, development, maintenance, support and administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OR MS Windows based servers with experience in both preferred
  • Significant experience in server hardening and other security practices at the operating system and application levels of a complex information technology environment which integrates with the network security architecture
