  • Two (2) positions, One (1) full-time continuing position and one (1) fixed term contract up to 6 months
  • Commencement Salary: $90,234 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

We are seeking two Senior Information Technologist: Developers to join UniSA’s Information Strategy and Technology Services unit in the Corporate Information Systems (CIS) team who manage, develop, and support a large portfolio of enterprise-wide and bespoke systems including Finance, HR and Facilities Management, ensuring robust, responsive and high availability of corporate applications.

The role of the Senior Information Technologist: Developer is to design, develop, implement and support the corporate information systems, and provide technical advice to team members, managers and key business stakeholders. The successful incumbent who will occupy the position on a fixed term contract will be responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and integration of services in support of the University’s Safety Management platform project.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and development in all stages of the software development lifecycle which includes working with key business stakeholders
  • Actively participate in the development of standards and promote their implementation across the team and unit
  • Provide specialist advice, consult, and collaborate with stakeholders on business requirements and service levels expected and negotiate priorities as required
  • Act as mentor and trainer to less experienced team members including graduates
  • Manage small projects with University wide impact by providing leadership to project steering committees and managing University and external consultants


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive relevant professional information technology experience in a complex information environment comparable with that of the University
  • Demonstrated experience in ICT project management including the application of software development lifecycle methodologies to deliver software solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation and service management of complex software systems including the facilitation of cloud services to customers
  • Proven understanding of technical architecture, security issues and authentication technologies in complex multi-tier software systems delivered both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor less experienced information technology staff
