  • Commencement Salary: $92,941 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

Provide expertise in the development, support and maintenance of security processes and resources required to ensure the University’s computers, networks and data are secured against a variety of threats, including security breaches, computer viruses or attacks by cyber-criminals. You will provide technical leadership to support technologies that offer cyber security protection, detection, response, and recovery.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, document and provide technical leadership for the architecture of cyber security technologies
  • Provide the University with expert advice including design proposals, new procedures, and information systems selection to meet appropriate security controls
  • Analyse, assess and monitor potential IT risks pertaining to data, transmission, identification and authentication, architecture/environmental and application and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Utilise cyber security tools including log correlation systems, vulnerability scanners and email security tools and other technologies to support and maintain the University’s cyber security posture. Support and guide operational aspects of cyber security including monitoring, detection and protection technologies
  • Manage various projects related to Cyber Security

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, experience and skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Extensive experience in design, documentation and provision of technical leadership for the architecture of specific technologies associated with cyber security including vulnerability management, endpoint protection, access management, cyber security awareness training and security operations
  • Extensive experience in the development and application of cyber security controls at the operating system, application and network levels in a complex information technology environment
  • Extensive experience in the management of responses to cyber security incidents
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of Cyber Security and Risk Management Frameworks
