(HE06/HE07) $82,879 to $101,986 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term, full time opportunity available until August 2024, with a possibility of an extension. A candidate seeking full time employment is preferable, however part time options may also be considered.

Adelaide Health Technology Assessment (AHTA), is a nationally and internationally renowned research centre within the School of Public Health, in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. AHTA conduct primary and secondary research to support best practice in the evaluation of health interventions, and hold large contracts with the Australian Government Department of Health.

The successful candidate would join a highly skilled team of health technology assessment (HTA) analysts and health economists involved in a wide range of projects. HTA is a dynamic and growing field that applies a range of methods to establish the value of health technologies. AHTA is at the forefront of HTA in Australia and globally, and is instrumental in the generation of high quality HTA reports and the development of new methodologies in the field. Staff members are exposed to evolving ideas and training opportunities in the field.

To be successful you will need: 

For appointment at the HEO6 level, candidates should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the production of quality written reports and/or other scientific papers within tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with systematic literature review methodology (including critical appraisal) and understanding of the content of health technology assessment reports
  • Demonstrated understanding of the scientific method and recognition of the strengths and weaknesses of different research/study designs

For appointment at the HEO7 level, candidates should also have:

  • Demonstrated ability to critically appraise and interpret complex technical information in the medical literature including determining the influence of bias and confounding on study results and assessing the applicability of findings to the Australian population
  • Extensive relevant experience in epidemiology, public health, health economics, pharmacy, medicine or a related discipline
