About the role:

As the Senior Graduate Research School Officer, you will provide high level support and guidance to the Director, Graduate Research School, overseeing strategic initiatives and projects in support of the Graduate Research School. You will manage administrative and day to day operations supporting the Director in enhancing the University's Higher Degree Research program and work collaboratively within and beyond the portfolio to drive improvements across Higher Degree Research (HDR) administration, enhancing the HDR experience at ACU.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Research and prepare draft papers, reports, specialised briefs, proposals and presentations to support the Graduate Research Schools strategic initiatives, planning and decision making, highlighting any barriers and potential solutions.
  • Oversee a diverse range of administrative activities that support graduate research supervisors and students.
  • Manage a range of projects and initiatives aimed at raising awareness and promoting ACU's Graduate Research Programs, such as organising student events.
  • Work collaboratively with the Graduate Research School team to manage and coordinate projects aimed at continuously reviewing and improving business practices, operational processes, and service provision.
  • Ensure provision of high-quality data and reporting on all aspects of research training to inform the university planning process and assist ACU to achieve its research objectives.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and in-depth analysis, investigate options and devise solutions, and provide expert advice on complex administrative, resources and strategic matters.
  • Manage and oversee risk, compliance, and quality assurance processes to support research training activities.

  • Total remuneration valued to $125,722 - $140,557 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $106,237 - $118,773 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
