About Finance and procurement Services

Finance and Procurement Services assist the University to achieve its goals by providing quality leadership, information, and financial services. The Finance and Procurement Services team develops and maintains financial policies and procedures and internal control to facilitate the conduct of university business and help ensure compliance with taxation and other financial legislative requirements.

 
About the Role 

The Senior Financial Analyst will be delivering a service that involves the Planning and Performance Strategic intent, as the service provider, and connecting this with localised financial plans as agreed by the College/Portfolio leadership team at Flinders.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivering high quality analytic services to approved College/Portfolio financial plans and appropriately advocating these to Planning and Performance leadership.

  • Delivering technical aspects of the College/Portfolio financial plans through budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and performance reporting.

  • Assisting with preparing analysis and reports for both formal routine reporting and an ad hoc basis, adhering to university deadlines.

  • Providing annual performance and University regulatory requirements of College/Portfolio financial requirements.

  • Delivering financial analysis services through a continuous service improvement mindset, sharing best practice amongst peers and leaders.

About You 

As the successful candidate, you have acquired a tertiary qualification in Accounting or related area with subsequent relevant experience. You are a proactive professional, with high-level flexibility and confidence in liaising and engaging various stakeholders. You are a proactive and analytical thinker and possess a great deal of adaptability to varying day to day tasks. You are motivated to document and challenge current processes with the goal of process improvement and increased engagement.

Some of the key position capabilities required for the role are:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders with competing priorities, with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Proven ability in analysis and drawing conclusions from reports and preparing reports about financial matters.

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team to provide consistent and effective services in a matrix reporting environment.

  • Process documentation and improvement.
