About the opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Infrastructure Platforms to bring technical leadership and expertise to the design and implementation of innovative solutions within the University’s information technology systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating across a wide range of areas, including Wide & Local Area Networks, Switching & Routing, Wireless, PABX (VOIP), Call Centre, Firewalls/IPS, Network Management Systems, Compute & Storage, Virtual Machines, Backup & Archiving Tools, Network Security, CCTV, Datacentres, and Cabling Infrastructure (Copper & Fibre). Additionally, you will collaborate with technology vendors to support and enhance the network infrastructure.


About you

The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated ability to lead and work with a multi-disciplinary technical team. Bring experience or knowledge of enterprise switching, WiFi, routing infrastructure, Firewalls, Server Loadbalancing systems (f5), VoIP systems (MS Teams), Contact Centres (AWS Connect), Cloud Networking (Azure) and cabling Infrastructure (Copper & Fibre). Candidates with experience scripting and automation tools such as Teraform and Ansible will be highly regarded.
In addition, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and a minimum of four years' experience in designing, implementing and supporting network infrastructure.
  • Experience defining and developing technical workflows, procedures, and standards.
  • Proven interpersonal skills enable you to effectively negotiate, advise, and engage constructively with experts and stakeholders at all levels
  • A track record of preparing, presenting, and updating technical documents, proposals, reports, plans, and technologies.

Salary and benefits

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at our Lismore or Gold Coast campus. Generous relocation support available.
  • HEW Level 7. The base salary ranges from $99,711 - $108,268 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $126,673.
