About the team
Human Resources (HR) function plays a critical role in the University achieving its challenging aims and ambitions. UWA’s strategy for the development and performance of its people is at the core of the University’s planning. The ability of HR professionals to partner effectively with senior leadership teams across the University is crucial to develop opportunities and provide practical and innovative solutions to achieve academic and business goals.

About the opportunity
Reporting to Manager, Employee Relations, you will contribute towards a comprehensive consultancy service, advising managers on common to complex people management issues including interpretation of industrial legislation, awards and agreements, policies and procedures, providing advice and coaching to managers on employee and industrial relations matters. You will also contribute towards the research and development of employee and industrial relations policies and procedures and related resources. You will work collaboratively with Human Resource Business Partners to ensure integrated service provision.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate a relevant tertiary qualification and substantial relevant experience in the provision of consultancy and advisory services to staff at all levels with regards to the application of industrial and/or employee relations or related frameworks. You will also demonstrate the ability to effectively manage industrial and/or employee matters and to contribute to developing complex strategies and solutions. In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the context of stakeholder relationship management and supporting union consultation mechanisms.

Note: A current National Police Clearance (NPC) is a requirement of this position.
