Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

About the Role
As the Senior Educational Technologist, you will be involved in the monitoring, configuration, feature and functionality testing, and delivery of educational technology systems, technical and workflow integrations. You will be providing a core role in the overarching service management and support of the University’s community. Within the role you will Provide advice and resolve complex service and technical queries with reference to existing policies, procedures and guidelines.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Actively contribute to investigative and exploratory endeavours through strategic discovery projects and pilots related to the enterprise learning technologies suite, in collaboration with teams across the University
  • Directly support the Manager, Academic & Learning Systems Support and senior staff in Learning Environments and Scholarly Services using technical and subject matter expertise in the operational interpretation and delivery of the University’s strategic learning and teaching initiatives, with particular focus on enabling effective use of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and the underpinning centrally provided suite of learning and assessment technologies and related expert support services for the University community
  • Coordinate and direct casual staff and project teams in the provision of high-quality service management, utilising expert industry and sector best practices to support a diverse range of learning and teaching activities, including the development and implementation of specific user support and testing processes and practices

About You
You will have highly developed communication skills, with the capacity to design and deliver excellent coaching and training, and the ability to facilitate knowledge sharing. You will have a strong service ethic and commitment to detail and accuracy, engagement in continuous improvement, and innovative approaches to problem solving.

Ideally, you will further have:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification with strong relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrable experience in managing or administering Learning Management Systems and associated teaching and learning technologies in large and/or complex institutional deployments
  • Demonstrable experience with industry standards and professional practices of planning and operations as pertains to educational and ICT service delivery. Ability to develop and implement practical and sustainable solutions under these standards and approaches in a high-pressure support environment, particularly in response to different strategic and tactical needs centrally and locally to further learning and teaching goals

  • Demonstrable experience in making effective and meaningful use of system information and analytics to garner insights of service operation and learning and teaching impact in order to maximise the potential of academic use of learning technologies, and to inform continual improvements to service operations and workflows
