About You


You will draw on your pedagogical and learning expertise to work as part of the team designing and developing contemporary and forward-thinking pedagogical approaches, curriculum frameworks, standards, models, learning experiences, evaluation strategies and outcomes. This position works collaboratively with the Centre for Educational Innovation and Development team to deliver on strategic priorities at RMIT University. You provide specialist advice on strategic practices and trends in education policy and design, the use of educational technologies in contemporary education settings to inform and drive education strategy and initiatives.

You will support the development of the Education Plan and enabling plans and the resources and activities that support their implementation. You undertake research, analysis and writing to develop forward-thinking learning and technology-enhanced strategies, plans, standards and high-quality resources. You support of engagement required to support strategic directions and ensuring compliance with University policy, processes and systems. You develop, implement and track communication and engagement approaches and activities to ensure stakeholder participation in and alignment to enterprise-wide education strategy, policy, models and frameworks.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Experience in educational strategy, pedagogy, policy and design.

  • Experience and excellence in learning and teaching practice, digital pedagogies and quality standards, and their application.

  • Experience in engaging with trends and innovative practice, facilitating ideation, concept development and execution strategies for complex innovation and transformation.

  • An ability to engage in and facilitate collaboration and co-design with university stakeholders, including education and professional staff.

  • An ability to deliver outputs while managing and prioritising competing workflows and deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Outstanding communication in written, visual and digital formats that connect, motivate and inspire change and the ability to conceptualise and create high quality, targeted reports, plans and presentations for a range of different purposes and audiences

  • Highly developed research and analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large quantities of data quickly to enable decision making in a complex and fast-paced environment

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
