The Senior Digital Communications and Web Officer is responsible for coordinating the content management of the faculty’s public website presence and other forms of digital communications to support the delivery of marketing and communications strategies that contribute to the effective recruitment of prospective students into the Faculty of Health’s courses. This role will also support content development, including copywriting, editing and proofreading across other digital channels and campaigns as required.

This role works flexibly between the office and home, with an expectation of 2 days a week in the office.

As a Senior Digital Communications and Web Officer, you will:

  • Write and edit copy for a variety of webpages across the Deakin website and other digital channels
  • Lead the content review and approval for domestic and international EDMs used for student recruitment purposes
  • Support the Web Channel team in actioning faculty related change requests using established processes and systems including Squiz CMS
  • Coordinate and develop campaign landing pages for use in large-scale digital advertising campaigns
  • Project manage the collection and maintenance of student, staff and alumni testimonials for use in digital and print marketing materials
  • Support the execution of the Faculty Marketing Plan, under the direction of the Marketing Manager (Health).               

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (in areas including communications, marketing, graphic design, content writing, social media or communications)
  • Experience in copywriting and editing content for digital channels and/or web purposes
  • Desirable: Experience with or knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Understanding of website design, UI design principles, and information architecture, usability testing, split testing, web analytics and digital marketing
  • Desirable: Experience in front-end development, including within CMS platforms such as Squiz Matrix and/or Umbraco CMS
  • Knowledge of HTML, digital WCAG 2.0 standards and website architecture
  • Experience in writing, designing, developing or implementing bespoke EDM campaigns.
