(HE08) $102,266 to $114,731 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and a high level of interpersonal skills who enjoys interacting and working with people at all levels in an organisation.

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for the assessment of information and analytical needs of business units and the specification, design, acquisition and preparation of data for analytical use cases to support University wide strategic-decision making activities. Advance your ELT development skills in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment. This includes the ongoing support and maintenance of the University’s Data Services systems.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for unlocking the business valued information from varied sources of data, having experience with ELT development, data staging techniques, excellent SQL analytic skills and have significant experience in large corporate information systems in a complex environment including Enterprise Data Warehouse experience.

In this role you will work on Business Intelligence projects and operational activities with a focus on data integration and includes providing ongoing support and maintenance of the University's Data Warehouse.

To be successful you will need:

  • Interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills appropriate for working with a wide range of stakeholders, both within the University and externally.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, expectations and relationship management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management and business intelligence concepts and practices and dimensional data modelling.
  • Advanced SQL, RDBMS and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with enterprise ETL or ELT tool such as Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator, SQL Server Integration Services.
