  • Campus independent - Can be based at La Trobe University’s Melbourne (Bundoora) or Victorian regional campuses.
  • HEO7 salary scale- $97,248 - $106,980 per annum + 17% superannuation

About the position

Reporting to the Team Leader of Respectful Communities, the Senior Coordinator Health Promotion (GBV Prevention) will collaborate with the Respectful Communities Team and closely engage with other primary prevention practitioners.

As the Senior Coordinator for Student Health Promotion (GBV Prevention), the incumbent will be tasked with executing prevention programs tailored for students, aligning with La Trobe’s Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Action Plan. Key responsibilities will include organizing and conducting student training programs (such as Bystander Intervention), participating in a student ambassador program, contributing to a social marketing campaign, undertaking communications tasks, aiding in policy development, and managing stakeholder relationships.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • A postgraduate degree in public health, international development, health promotion or other relevant discipline with extensive experience in program design, program evaluation, social marketing or communications and gender-based violence prevention with young people.
  • Demonstrate experience in leading and delivering primary prevention initiatives in community or educational settings, including evaluating these initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying theoretical knowledge to complex program management in the tertiary sector or a related field, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated in-depth contemporary knowledge of sexual harm prevention, mental health promotion, cis/heteronormativity, anti-racism, and de-colonisation approaches.
