About the opportunity

Sydney Health Partners is a joint venture of three NSW Health local health districts, the Sydney Children's Hospital Network (Westmead), the University of Sydney and 11 affiliated medical research institutes. Its aim is to improve the translation of research into evidence-based healthcare, and deliver the benefits of innovation to patients and communities more quickly and consistently.

Reporting to the Media and Communications Manager, you will help to deliver a couple of major medical research events and a broad suite of corporate communications to raise the profile of Sydney Health Partners among the diverse communities of health and medical researchers and clinicians who work for - or collaborate with - the Partners.

  • creating / publishing website content

  • creating and publishing newsletters using eDM software

  • creating and publishing social media posts – Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook

  • writing health and medical research stories

  • providing general organisational support for virtual and face-to-face events

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in communications, journalism and/or public relations

  • strong writing skills and a passion for storytelling

  • graphic design skills and/or event organisation experience

  • a self-starter who can think creatively and strategically
