  • HEO7 – TRP $105,603 - $116,170 inclusive of 17% superannuation 

About the position

The Senior Communications Coordinator is responsible for executing the Infrastructure and Operations communications plan, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating I&O’s communication activities across a range of channels to ensure staff and students are well informed and engaged with I&O activities and initiatives; and providing high quality, professional internal communication services on behalf of I&O. The role will work with staff from all areas of I&O and other areas of the University (academic, research and administration), to implement improved communications.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • A Degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience to consolidate and extend the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
  • Demonstrated organisation and problem solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation or interpretation of data.
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
  • Proven ability to focus on objectives rather than procedures and precedents.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated ability to generate and deliver content for a range of channels and audiences.
  • Strong administrative, technical and organisational skills and the ability to set priorities and work quickly and effectively under pressure to deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver a wide range of materials such as newsletters, feature articles, procedures and communications plans, working both independently and as part of a team when required.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing an effective communications and engagement program for a range of audiences who are geographically dispersed.
  • Demonstrated experience with CMSes or Adobe Marketing Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop, creative ad-copy development.
