  • Base Salary $117,116 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Business Insights Analyst to join the Business Insights and Analytics team at the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH), one of the largest of its kind in Australia and continuously ranked #1 across multiple academic fields. You will closely collaborate with key faculty stakeholders and deliver actionable and impactful insights utilising analytics, statistical methods, and data visualisation techniques to support strategic and operational planning and decision-making, aimed at achieving our aspiration to make and shape the future of healthcare. Please note this role is located in the state of the art Susan Wakil Health Building   on the Camperdown campus and provides some flexibility with working from home.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • engage and partner with key stakeholders to identify their business requirements and provide insights and decision-making support through impactful analytics
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data analysis needs and deliver comprehensive solutions
  • conduct complex data analysis and utilise statistical methods to extract meaningful insights, contextualise findings, and identify key drivers and trends that inform business decisions
  • work in an iterative manner with stakeholders to validate findings and priorities, considering value-add and impact
  • utilise data visualisation techniques to share and present findings, actionable insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner
  • contribute to initiatives aimed at improvement of data literacy across all levels of the faculty
  • ensure data governance compliance, and data integrity and accuracy in all analytical processes and deliverables

About you

You are a results-driven Senior Business Insights Analyst with more than 5 years of work experience who has:


  • extensive experience in delivering actionable and impactful insights to a varied stakeholder group.

  • extensive experience and high proficiency in utilising statistical methods and using data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, SPSS, and similar.

  • expert skills in validating, querying, and discovering patterns and relationships across large and complex data sets from a variety of sources to deliver meaningful insights.

  • extensive data translation and visualisation experience, developing insightful dashboards for various stakeholder groups, utilising MS Power-BI, incl. DAX measures, Power Query etc.

  • ability to critically evaluate and prioritise resolution of issues in data and published reports, perform impact assessment, perform root cause analysis, and provide suggestions for solution or remediation.

  • excellent interpersonal and client relationship management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels of seniority, and present actionable insights in a concise manner to leaders.

  • high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to produce work of a consistently high standard within tight timeframes.

  • excellent time and workload management and organisational skills, including demonstrated ability to determine multiple priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines and achieve team goals.

  • demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgement when assessing and dealing with confidential matters or data.
