Senior Assessor (Undergraduate) position with a diverse range of professional administrative responsibilities available at SATAC.

The Customer Engagement and Success comprises a team of staff dedicated to SATAC’s core admissions services. The team is responsible for the provision of end-to-end services, such as providing an information service to SATAC’s customers, including advice about the rules governing entry to courses, the application process and the outcome of applications. The team also provides tertiary application assessment and admissions services for domestic and international applicants for undergraduate and postgraduate university courses, TAFE SA courses and university equity scholarships.

Working under general direction, the Senior Assessor (Undergraduate) performs and leads assessment activities across a wide range of applications and undertakes quality assurance checks, and reviews assessment manuals and related documentation. The role also assists and coaches Assessment Officers in the performance of their day-to-day assessment tasks by answering queries about standard assessment practices and delivering one-on-one and small group training as required.

The successful candidate is expected to maintain familiarity with the assessment practices of multiple services and may be called upon to shift from one service to another on short notice to cover for absences or during peak assessment periods.

To be successful you will need:

  • Knowledge of Australian and Overseas secondary and tertiary education systems and qualifications.
  • Proven resourcefulness applying existing policies and principles to new problems.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance attention to detail with the need to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) Limited provides reliable, efficient and innovative tertiary admissions services to its member institutions and on a fee for service basis to other tertiary education institutions in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

SATAC manages centralised application and admissions processes on behalf of its members and participating fee for service institutions, as well as administering admissions aptitude tests, providing publication and research services, and acting as a one-stop shop for queries regarding application processes and outcomes.
