The Opportunity
If you love working with animals or are considering a change in your career path, we will support you in establishing your career as a Senior Animal Technologist within the Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP).
This position contributes to supporting the Faculty’s research base and provides management and care services for animals of various species through general, technical and medical procedures under the frameworks of established policies.
The Senior Animal Technologist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of a designated unit, including the direct supervision of Animal Technologists and Animal Technicians and promoting animal welfare with respect to animal production, care and experimentation. You will provide a professional, efficient service to researchers, supporting research projects and regularly liaising with them to ensure their specific needs are met.
We are seeking someone with a Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) or progression towards the completion of a Diploma in Animal Technology with relevant work experience in a laboratory animal facility environment or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training or experience in an animal facility environment. You will also possess a passion for working with animals and a collegial, collaborative and engaging work ethic.
