The Opportunity

Monash researchers require software developers to partner with them to enable new research goals, enhance research practices, and foster collaborative research through the application of Information Communication Technologies (ICT).

The Senior Analyst Programmer is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of applications software through the provision of technical expertise. The role looks after building high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. This position has a vital role in development of these solutions including researching, designing, documenting and developing new software or enhancing existing software solutions.

This role requires you to have extensive hands-on experience throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to completion. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in SQL, database design, scripting and report generation, and web development. Your core programming language expertise will be in .NET technologies and frameworks.

You will be comfortable working in an Agile software development environment and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with researchers and Monash eSolutions teams.

In this role, you may be working on simultaneous projects and be expected to work as a part of the team to develop secure, quality software solutions. 

You will be results-focused and will have an appreciation of good software development practices, such as: configuration and release management, coding standards, code reuse, and documentation. Attention to detail, good time management skills and good problem-solving skills are also essential to the success in this role.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
