About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Tertiary Education portfolio leadership in the implementation of strategic programs and projects that are focused on the University's tertiary education offer and the student experience. Through these activities this role supports the implementation of the University’s Strategic Plan, 2022-2028: Start well, finish brilliantly.

Working closely with the Executive Officer, the role will also oversight the day-today operations of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor's Office. To fulfil the responsibilities of this role, the Senior Advisor will ensure high levels of engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders within the portfolio and across the University to achieve priorities.

This is a full-time, ongoing position at a HEW 9, $119,295 - $124,115 classification working 36.75 hours per week.

Duties:

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with leaders across the portfolio and university to optimise outcomes aligned with the strategic and operational plans.
    Strategic and Executive Support: Provide high quality executive, project and advisory services on strategic, operational, and policy matters.
    Planning and People: Assist the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in cultivating a workplace culture that attracts skilled staff to deliver innovative and impactful tertiary education.

About You:

  • An individual who is bold and creative and excited by the Victoria University's Strategic Plan, 2022-2028 .
  • Proven expertise in leadership and executive support in a complex and relevant environment and/or; relevant higher education qualifications.
  • Experience in strategic and operational planning with the ability to develop systems and processes to track large and complex projects, and to drive and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and cross-cultural, negotiation and interpersonal skills to enable issues to be resolved with other staff, students and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in in develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders that are mutually beneficial and engaging diverse stakeholders on complex problems that result in further innovation and improvements.
  • Astute analytical and problem solving skills, with the capacity to think creatively, act strategically, be flexible and the ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis and insights to complex issues. 
  • Outstanding organisation skills, with a proven ability to deal effectively with high volume workload, competing priorities and unexpected events, exercising judgement and taking action accordingly, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
