Senior Administrative Officer

• Part time (0.5 FTE) until 31 December 2023. Located on the Darlington Campus at the Faculty of Engineering

• Opportunity to support the operational initiatives of the school and get involved in strategic projects

• Base Salary $91K p.a. - $98K pro rata (HEO6) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Administrative Officer to provide a broad range of administrative and operational support to the School of Electrical and Information Engineering .

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• manage general administrative services and operational support by the work area

• prepare documents, respond to complex queries, explore matters, and source solutions for the work area

• provide guidance and support to more junior administrative staff

• help analyse matters and provide advice on policy and procedures for the delivery of work outcomes

• coordinate diaries, meetings and events and provide conference support for the work area

• undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.

• administrative experience in a tertiary organisation, working knowledge of academic institutions, structures and the higher education sector

• a working knowledge of software programs such as Sydney Student, PowerBI, and Canvas

• excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes

• strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service

• experience in servicing committees

• strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in drafting reports/ business cases

• experience in providing senior administrative support

• Experience developing and implementing administrative processes to improve efficiency.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
